The outstanding results he has achieved are due to his technical background, his strategic vision and his ability to make the right decisions in an uncertain business climate.
Jose is an inspired inventor with a broad R&D experience in university environments. In addition, he accumulated an extensive knowledge in Operations as he was the Head of Industrialisation in a large company in the field of biotechnology. He is renowned for his inventions and his innovation capabilities. It is worth mentioning that Jose is an expert in smooth management since he has always been able to guid people through every stage of a new project.
Nicolas has 10 years' experience in the red and white biotech sector. He gained substantial experience in the field of contract biomanufacturing as a Process Development Director and a Business Development Director at Henogen, a medium-sized CMO. He is an expert in fermentation (E.coli, P.pastoris and LIactis) in volumes up to 100 liters, cell culture and virus production in bioreactors up to 300 liters with different cell lines (CHO, MDCK, VERO, SF9, NS0) both in fed-batch and in perfusion systems. In addition, is has an extensive knowledge in downstream processing (chromatography and filtration), in development and in GMP production. He was responsible for teams of up to 20 scientists and technicians and he was in charge of projects worth several EURmillions.
Eric joined Artelis in 2006, after gaining substantial experience both in people and process management in the manufacturing industry. He is a specialist in biotechnology process development, scale-up of cell-culture processes, manufacturing of injectable cGMP for human use, internal and external auditing and pre-approval inspection of cGMP in leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He spent four years as a Production Manager (Suite B) and Supervisor at Baxter Neuchatel (Switzerland), five years as a Scaling-up Supervisor at Glaxo Smithkline Rixensart (Belgium) and three years as a Quality and Production Representative at Villers Monopole (water and soft drinks manufacturing) in Villers-le-Gambon (Belgium).
Guillaume joined Artelis in 2008 after a 5-year experience at Deloitte Consulting. He has accumulated extensive knowledge and skills in budget control, in post-merger integration, in cost model, etc. Before he joined Deloitte, he achieved several goals: he set up a “mini-company” while at university, he was an active member in several student activities, he was a consultant for business angels, etc. He has always been active in business and intends to run his own company in the future.
Matt has 18 years’ business development experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including clinical trials, pharmaceutics, drug delivery and technology development. Prior to joining Artelis, he was at Neose Technologies where he was responsible for commercializing a novel protein pegylation technology. While at Neose, he established a collaboration with BioGeneriX AG for the co-development of a long-acting protein therapeutic that is now in Phase II clinical trials.
Emilie joined Artelis as a Human Resources & Administration Officer. Her good knowledge in Law led her to start a professional career in the sector of public services and in a management consulting company. She worked on complex legal topics. After this fulfilling experience, she became Technical & Legal Advisor at UNCCAS, the National Union of Social Action Community Center. In 2005, her career was reorientated as she obtained a DES in Finance and HR Management. This is how she was able to manage up to 15 people in a Local Public Institution. Working at Artelis was a unique opportunity for this hard worker to face a new challenge in her career.
Pascale joined Artelis in May 2009 after a 10-year professional experience in the field of commercialization of consumables and laboratory equipment for molecular and cellular biology. She is in touch with key people both in the field of R&D in the pharmaceutical industry and in Europe bioproduction. It is worth mentioning that in the past, she gained substantial experience at Applied Biosystems Group since she worked there for several years. Prior to joining Artelis, she worked at The Automation Partnership (TAP) - a manufacturer of automated cell culture systems. While at TAP, she accumulated extensive knowledge about the technologies and took part in several product developments and launches, particularly in the field of cell therapy, which is an emerging market.
