  • Artelis was set up within the incubator for innovative start-ups on the Solvay Group's R&T site.
  • Initial capitalisation provided by its Founders.
  • Artelis starts the development of a scalable and disposable high-cell-density bioreactor in fixed-bed: iCELLis™.

 

2006

  • Development of a proprietary disposable mixing technology: A-mix.
  • Integration of the A-mix into a mixing system: launch of the Newmix® Jet-Drive™.
  • Sales and Marketing Agreement signed with ATMI LifeSciences to market the 25-1.000-liters range of Newmix Jet-Drive

 

2007

  • First results from a viral production feasibility study by using small-scale iCELLis™ bioreactors: 20- to 100- fold increase in volumetric productivity.
  • Collaboration contract signed with a medium-sized Austrian biotech company active in human influenza vaccine.
  • Collaboration contract signed with GSK Biologicals for the development of a disposable process including iCELLis ™ bioreactor. iCELLis™ will be used for the production of at least two GSK Biologicals products.
  • Collaboration with ATMI LifeSciences and Pierre Guérin Biolafitte for the development of nucleo™, a complete range of scalable and single-use stirred tank bioreactors.
  • Capital increases by the Founders and ATMI LifeSciences, NASDAQ-listed company. 

 

2008

  • Artelis inaugurated its state-of-the-art brand new facility.
  • Artelis adapats its iCELLis™ technology to protein production: Record antibody production level of >31 grams per liter achieved by combining its iCELLis™ technology with Selexis' CHO protein expression platform. More info
  • Artelis adapats its iCELLis™ technology to cell therapy:
    Co-development agreement signed with Cardio 3 BioSciences for the manufacturing process development of iCELLis™ for autologous stem cells.
